The AI Opportunity Diagnostic

Two weeks inside your business. About three hours of your time. You leave with a ranked 90-day plan showing the payback math on every recommendation — plus the governance file most owners don’t know they need until an insurer, a lawyer, or a big customer asks for it. From $3,500 by company size — and Ontario’s DMAP grant can cover up to half.

All advice vetted by a human — always.

What you leave with

The ranked 90-day plan

Every opportunity scored on time-to-value, complexity, and payback in hours or dollars per month — your numbers, measured on-site, not industry averages. Written so any competent builder can execute it: us, someone else, or your own team.

Your AI & data inventory

Every AI tool actually in use (most owners discover two or three nobody approved), who owns it, what data it touches, and whether your data trains someone else’s model. Plus a team proficiency baseline, seat by seat.

Top-10 risk register

AI and privacy risks first, in plain language, with a recommended response for each — a working document you can hand your lawyer, your insurer, or an auditor.

Vendor scorecards

Every AI tool in or proposed for your stack, scored: business-tier no-training terms, where your data lives, certifications, retention. Pass / flag / fail.

Together, that’s what enterprises call an AI control plane — capability they pay six figures to build. This is the Main Street version, scoped for a working owner, useful the day it lands.

How it runs

Pricing — fixed by company size, published

Your total headcountFixed feeWith DMAP (up to 50%)
Solo – 9$3,500as low as $1,750
10 – 24$5,000as low as $2,500
25 – 50$7,500as low as $3,750

Did the Quick Start first? Half that fee ($1,250) comes off too, within 90 days.

Two commitments worth knowing. The plan is yours — no lock-in, and under DMAP’s own rules the plan-writer can’t be the paid builder, which means your plan is written by someone with zero incentive to inflate the build. And if two weeks inside your business turns up nothing worth doing, we’ll tell you that in writing.

Questions owners actually ask

How much does the AI Opportunity Diagnostic cost?

Fixed by company size: $3,500 (solo to 9 staff), $5,000 (10-24), $7,500 (25-50). Ontario's DMAP grant can cover up to half for eligible businesses — netting as low as $1,750 — and half of a prior Quick Start fee credits as well. No hourly meters, no change orders.

Do I need the Quick Start before a Diagnostic?

No. They solve different problems: the Quick Start proves AI works in your shop with one live agent; the Diagnostic maps everything and produces the funded 90-day plan. Many clients start with the Diagnostic directly — especially when DMAP eligibility makes it the cheaper first step.

What if the Diagnostic finds nothing worth doing?

Then the report says so, in writing — what we examined and why it didn't clear the bar. You keep the baseline measurements, the inventory, and the risk register either way. We'd rather lose a build than sell one that shouldn't exist.

How does the DMAP grant actually work?

Ontario's Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan matches up to 50% of an eligible adoption plan (max $15,000), run through the Ontario Centre of Innovation's Digital Competence Centre. It reimburses the business after the plan is delivered by an approved consultant. We check your eligibility free, before you sign anything — and program rules bar the plan-writer from being the paid builder, which protects you.

What happens after the readout?

The 90-day plan is yours: build it with us (one outcome sprint at a time), with any vendor, or in-house. There is no obligation past the readout — the plan is written so all three paths work.
